On The Law Of Attraction

Posted: 11/20/2007

Ever since the Secret DVD and book by Rhonda Byrnes hit the Internet like a bolt of lightning from the sky, the Law of Attraction has captured the imagination of so many people that it would seem that the secret is really a new discovery.  It was featured on a lot of TV shows:  on Larry King Live, on Oprah, on Ellen de Generes show.  It has been discussed no less by some of the great thinkers and motivators of  modern times.

But is the Law of Attraction really new?  Was it really a secret?  It would appear that it isn't so.  It is as old as the Bible.  In the Proverbs it says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."  Job says, "The thing that I fear hath come upon me."

Books written so many years ago, like "The Master Key System" by Charles Haanel, "The Self You Have to Live With" by Winfred Rhoades, "Think And Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, to cite a few, have all distilled the Secret into the Law of Attraction.  More recent books that promote and discuss  expansively the Law of Attraction are "Our Ultimate Reality" by Adrian Cooper and "How To Be Rich" by Dr. Robert Anthony.  Even Dr. Wayne W. Dyer and Dr. Deepak Chopra and other  self-development gurus have mentioned the Law of attraction on their books and tapes.

It all boils down to a Universal principle:  You attract into your life what you habitually think.   As Napoleon Hill says in his book, Think and Grow Rich, "What the mind of man  can conceive  and believe, the mind  of man can achieve."

This is the essential message in my book, "Random Thoughts: The Power Of Thoughts." By knowing how to apply the Law of Attraction, you can make your dreams come true.  It happened to yours truly. When I was in the Philippines, when I was young, I dreamed of coming to America.  Watching movies like the "Wizard Of Oz'", "Gone With the Wind" and other movies from Hollywood, I would fantasize and dream secretly that I was already here in America.  Not only that, but I had always dreamed of seeing the great cities in the world like London, Paris, Rome. During those times, I never thought that I would eventually visit those places.  But it's not only those places that I was able to see, but also other places in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Venice, and other cities in Italy and France.  The last cities I dreamed of visiting were New York, Washington D. C. and other cities in the East Coast. And because of the Law of Attraction, I finally realized all those dreams of mine.  As added bonus, I also was able to visit Vancouver and Victoria, Brithish Columbia in Canada.

Yes, the Law of Attraction is the secret behind the Secret.  Your thoughts, coupled with your emotions, create your reality.  The bottom line is you can manifest in your life whatever you think of.  Whatever you focus on, you will achieve.  Focus on what you desire in life, not on what you do not want. Who was it who said, "if you think you can't do it, you're right."  Simply put, what you think is what you get.

As the wise men said  everything  in this world is made of energy and since energy is actually vibration,  everything that exists vibrates.

"Attracting wealth, health, happiness and anything else you desire is not something you "do", it is rather something you "are".  You are what you vibrate and what you allow into your life."-Adrian Cooper

On Thanksgiving Day

Posted: 11/16/2007

Thanksgiving Day is fast approaching.  It's just around the corner.

So what are your thoughts when this Special Day comes? Of course we already knew the origin of Thanksgiving Day here in America. That the Pilgrims in America who came from Europe to escape religious persecution and poverty, declared a Thanksgiving Day in 1623 after their crops were saved by a providential shower.  Since that time the Americans observed Thanksgiving Day every 4th Thursday of November.

There are two articles in my book about Thanksgiving Day- The origin of Thanksgiving Day and Why we celebrate it.  We Fil-Americans have adapted the celebration of Thanksgiving Day.  But what, really, are we thankful for?  So many things come to mind. I am sure that those of us who survived the recent wildfires that occured here in Southern California are doubly thankful that in spite of the horrible thing that happened, we were saved.  But this is not to say that we do not share the anguish, distress and extreme pain of those  who lost their houses and other properties in that calamity.

We must be thankful to God for those firefighters, policemen  and volunteers who put their lives on the line to help those unfortunate ones, the victims of the said adversity.  We must also be grateful to Pres. George Bush and  Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for setting a day from their busy schedule to see for themselves the devastation that the wildfires have caused.  Their visit offered great comfort and consolation to those who suffered.  Pres. Bush responded when state officials reached out to the Federal Government for help.  Gov. Schwarzenegger requested more Federal help and within an hour, Pres. Bush approved an emergency declaration that authorized federal agencies across the government to help state and local  responders, save lives, protect property and maintain public health and safety.

Thanksgiving thoughts are the kind of thoughts that we should have all year round, not only on Thanksgiving Day.  It is the time to feel gratitude to God for all the good things in life. A simple prayer of thanksgiving is a moment-to-moment prayer, not reserved for a certain occasion or for blessings that we have already received. It can change our lives dramatically when we thank God even in the midst of our greatest challenge.  With a prayer of thanksgiving, we open our minds to receive the great blessings that God has for us.

There are so many things to give thanks for, to be grateful for.  Gratefulness is a feeling of thankfulness and appreciation.

Here's a simple poem I wrote  a few years ago which I think is worth repeating on this occasion:

                                  We Thank Thee, Lord

On bended knees, we thank Thee, Lord,

For all Thy blessings bestowed upon us,

The sun, the moon, the stars, the sky,

The air we breath, the water we drink,

The lakes, the rivers, the seas, teeming with fish,

And on the earth, the creeping things,

The verdant fields, "the amber waves of grain",

Thou created them all, for our satisfaction.

The flowers, the trees, the birds, the bees,

The dogs, the cats, the cattle, the sheep,

The horses, and all the animals in the forest.

Thou created all these, and gave Man dominion over all.

What more can we ask of Thee, Lord?

Thou gave us everything we need, to live a life that's most complete.

Thou gave us families and friends,

The wonders of the world within our grasp.

Thou gave us free will, the power to think and dream.

But above all these, Thou gave us Love,

The greatest gift of which we thank Thee most of all.

Our hearts are overwhelmed with joy and gladness,

For we are a part of Thee,

And thou are a part of us.

We thank, Thee, Lord!

                               HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO ALL!

My book is about the power of thoughts. Thoughts are powerful.  All the great thinkers of the past down to the present are one in saying that what we think is what we get.  So be carefull about what you think. God gave us the power to think and it is up to us to think what we want to be. Change your thoughts and you change your life. For the better. If you want a richer, happier, healthier and more peaceful life, think rich, happy, healthy and peaceful thoughts. That's all there is to it.  If all of us will collectively think such positive thoughts, we can still create a wonderful, peaceful world, for us and  our children and for succeeding generations.  As God created  us in His image, we are co-creators with God.
